This is the new-generation Defender (L663) that went on sale in 2020, in long-wheelbase 110 form with the P400 engine: Land Rover's 3.0-litre Ingenium inline-six petrol with a twin-scroll turbo, a 48-volt electric supercharger and mild-hybrid assistance. Land Rover quotes 400 PS and 550 Nm, 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and a 191 km/h top speed. It drives all four wheels permanently through an eight-speed automatic and a twin-speed transfer box with low range. The 110 is rated to tow 3,500 kg.

It suits a buyer who wants a modern, fast and very capable 4x4 and accepts petrol running costs. Official WLTP figures are 11.2 to 12.1 L/100 km (about 8 to 9 km/L) from a 90-litre tank, and town driving will use more. What Car? owners rank the Defender well among seven-seaters, but report warning lights and electronic faults, and Land Rover finishes last as a brand. At this age, have a Land Rover specialist confirm that recall work is done (the oil filter housing recall covers the P400, plus security software updates and a water pump belt recall). Check the air suspension through every height setting, scan for stored faults, and look underneath for off-road damage.
